Medical Receptionist

Location- Manhasset, New York

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. currently has an open position for a Medical Receptionist. This is a full-time position located at the Manhasset office. The Medical Receptionist will provide exceptional customer service to patients while maintaining an organized front desk. The Medical Receptionist should be a dependable, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual who should have flexibility within their schedule, since they should expect to work some nights and weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming patients and answering phone lines in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Preparing patient charts, scheduling patients, and collecting and posting payments.
  • Maintaining accurate, updated patient information in computer systems.
  • Confirming appointments with patients, as well as notifying them if there are any changes in the schedule.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years of college education is preferred, but a high school diploma with reception experience will be taken into consideration
  • 6+ years working in a medical office
  • Medical spa experience not required but is a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to multi-task

Clinical Research Director

Location- Garden City, NY

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. is currently looking for a Director of Clinical Research who will help us develop the clinical trials division of our practice. This is a full-time position that will be involved with the day to day activities of our fast paced practice. The ideal candidate must be dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.

This is a high level independent position that will be responsible for all clinical trials within the company. In addition to the desired attributes listed above, the ideal candidate should have the experience, desire, and aptitude to move into roles of even greater responsibility within a relatively short period of time. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating and managing clinical research agreements with clinical investigators.
  • Developing and managing budgets for clinical studies.
  • Conducting analyses of clinical study problems, protocol modifications, etc.
  • Determining and implementing corrective actions and assessing compliance and effectiveness.
  • Will be responsible for multiple projects
  • Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Will assist in the development and writing of clinical trial protocols. 
  • Working directly with patients who are enrolled in clinical trials.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; RN, MD Masters, or PhD preferred.
  • 3-5 coordinator/industry experience working on clinical trials.
  • Strong management and negotiation skills.
  • MUST have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience with IRBs.

 The ideal candidate for this position must also be available to work on weekends occasionally, as well as having the ability to travel off-site to various office and hospital locations.

 

Medical Accounts Receivable Collector

Location- Garden City, NY

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. currently has an open position for an A/R Collector in the Billing and Collections Department. The ideal candidate must have knowledge in all commercial insurances, including N/F and W/C.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 codes, and modifiers; must have at least 2 years of prior experience
  • Knowledge of writing effective appeal letters
  • Knowledge of out of network insurance provider billing & collections
  • Knowledge of Nextech Computer System a plus!

Nurse Practitioner/P.A.

Location- Garden City, New York

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. currently has an open position for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Nursing Department. The position is full-time or part-time and is located at the Garden City office.

The NP is responsible for providing consultation and treatment to patients regarding their aesthetic goals. The NP is trained in and will therefore adhere to the specified clinical protocols. These protocols pertaining to consultations and treatments are set forth by the medical director. In addition the NP must follow patient safety guidelines as set forth by established clinical parameters in the practice of medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing education and information to patients; describing our medical procedures in detail and handling all patient questions and concerns.
  • Performing assessments and evaluations of patients, including consultation documentation, medical history, and physical findings.
  • Addressing patient concerns and making recommendations as needed
  • Developing and implementing a careplan that is tailored for the requirements of the patient.
  • Selecting and initiating the planned treatment modality, including but not limited to:
    • Topical skin treatment
    • Topical anesthetics
    • Sclerotherapy treatments
    • Laser and IPL Therapy
    • Skin Care Regimes
    • Areola Tattooing
    • Vela
    • Fraxel
    • Candela Laser Treatment

  • Providing pre and post procedure instructions
  • Reviewing pre and post photographs
  • Discussing and signing informed consent forms with each patient prior to each procedure
  • Ensuring the compliance of medical records
  • Adhere and comply with all HIPPA and privacy laws
  • Contact the M.D. practitioner/Medical Director, under general supervision, when needed for consultation or referral when relating to the client, either in person or by communication devices. If the physician is not available, a partner physician will be contacted for consultation and the medical director is informed of the consultation
  • Bi-weekly chart review by supervising physician
  • Maintaining a close interaction and open dialogue with staff as well as attending all mandatory meetings
  • Maintain appropriate work attire (clean lab coat and closed toe shoes).
  • Complies with rules and regulations including OSHA & HIPPA.
  • Maintaining license and certifications
  • Familiar with safety manuals as well as maintaining and keeping equipment clean.
  • Participating in educational and marketing events sponsored by the practice.

The NP will also arrive 15 minutes prior to first appointment, complete the documentation of all pertinent information including areas of treatment, lot numbers and expiration dates, consents and narratives.

Medical Spa Receptionist

Location- Garden City, New York /Manhasset, New York

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. currently has an open position for a Medical Spa Receptionist at the Aesthetic Center. The Aesthetic Center offers effective, less invasive treatments to restore healthy skin, as well as a variety of state-of-the-art cosmetic enhancement options, including comprehensive skincare treatments, chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, etc. The Aesthetic Center’s staff consists of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and licensed medical aestheticians, who are overseen by the plastic surgeons at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. administrative director of the Aesthetic Center.

The Medical Spa Receptionist will:  

  • Greet patients
  • Check in/out patients
  • Create new charts.
  • Answer telephone/retrieving messages.
  • Maintain the waiting area, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for new and returning patients.
  • Organize schedules for Nurse Practitioners, Medical Aestheticians, and Physician Assistants.
  • Handle cash and batch reports
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations

This will be a full or part-time position. The Medical Spa Receptionist will begin training at the Garden City location. At the completion of training, the Medical Spa Receptionist will be located at the Manhasset or a future Suffolk County location.

 

Medical Aesthetician 

Location- Garden City, New York/ Manhasset, New York

Job Description: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. is currently looking for a Medical Aesthetician to work in the Aesthetic Center. The Medical Aesthetician will provide consultations and treatments to patients who are looking to rejuvenate their appearance in various ways.

The Medical Aesthetician will:

  • Provide facials, various peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and other services offered by the Aesthetic Center. 
  • Conduct skin care assessments with VISIA Complexion Analysis.
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for new and existing patients.
  • Ensure that the patient is aware of what to expect during the treatment that they have selected and that they are comfortable; Make sure that all proper treatment consent forms are signed by the patient.  
  • Become acquainted with the various LIPSG skincare products that are on sale in the Aesthetic Center, so that the Aesthetician will be able to help the patient choose a product that is best suited for their needs.  
  • Have proper etiquette and be understanding with the patient if they become hesitant before a treatment or during a consultation.
  • Maintain a good attitude and show enthusiasm around patients and other AC employees
  • Keep track/maintain product inventory.
  • Maintain equipment regularly. 
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Have OSHA compliance. 

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as a licensed aesthetician
  • State Aesthetic License
  • Knowledge of skin care products 

The Medical Aesthetician will work between both Aesthetic Centers, located in Garden City and Manhasset.  

 

Medical Collector

Location- Garden City, New York

Job Summary: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. currently has an open position for a Medical Collector in the Billing and Collections department.

The Medical Collector will:

  • Help manage the A/R by performing all aspects of the account follow up on self-pay accounts or accounts with patient liability to ensure timely collection, or assignments to collection agencies.
  • Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients that include monitoring payments as well as following up with payments when lapses occur.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • General knowledge of CPI/ICD9
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work with others as a team or independently ,unsupervised in a high volume, fast paced work environment
  • Bi-Lingual preferred

Breast Care Nurse Navigator

Location- Garden City, New York

Job Description: The Breast Care Nurse Navigator serves as a consistent care coordinator ensuring timely access and seamless coordination of services throughout the continuum of breast care. The Nurse Navigator will meet with the patient and families to provide emotional support and guidance. As a single point of contact, The Nurse Navigator will provide medical information, education, and share knowledge regarding internal and external support services and resources.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Professional involvement in Breast Health and Breast Cancer related organizations.
  • Able to communicate openly and empathetically with patients, families and providers.
  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including professional staff, community members, media and other service organizations.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree required. Masters of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 5+ years acute clinical experience in nursing specifically related to plastics, oncology or generalized breast health required. Case Management or Discharge Planning experience preferred.
  • CBPN-C, CBCN or OCN certifications preferred.
