Assistant to the President of LIPSG
Responsible To: President/Executive Director/Supervisor of Secretaries
Job Summary: Executive level assistant/medical secretary. The assistant to the president ensures that daily operations run smoothly. Assistant is responsible for meeting planning, calendar management, travel arrangements, and re-credentialing. Assistant coordinates patient surgeries, obtains authorizations and quotes patients for cosmetic surgeries.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Responsibilities Include:
- Strong communication skills with staff, ancillary personnel, and physicians
- Candidate must be enthusiastic and able to work independently
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Candidate must be willing to travel to Manhattan one afternoon per week
- Ability to prioritize work flow in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Candidate must be willing to work some evening hours
Secretarial Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Summary: Prepare chart for daily schedules, prepare and maintain physician’s weekly schedule, maintain patient records to ensure file is complete, obtain referral for office visits.
- Surgical scheduling, discuss surgical procedures with patients, and follow-up with patients that were quoted for surgery (function as a cosmetic coordinator)
- Arrange meetings and calendar management (personal and office).
- Prepare pre–certification / pre-surgical determination letters for surgical procedures
- Assist patient with any questions relating to scheduling / surgical dates
- Preparation of charts for daily schedule
- Make appointments when needed
- Coordinate physician travel arrangements
- Arrange physician’s schedule for meetings, seminars or workshops
- Maintain physician’s call calendar and find coverage as needed by physician
- Maintain patients medical records to ensure that file is complete
- Respond to attorney requests for medical records, medical reports, and physician appearance in court
- Complete physician’s hospital and insurance carrier re-appointment applications
- Maintain accurate physician demographic data and picture on hospital websites
- File physician’s continuing medical education requirements
- Responsible for surgical scheduling
- Ensure that inform consents are accurately completed in a timely manner
- Ensure that PQRI data is properly captured as well as outcome reports in NexTech
- Oversee e-Verification process

Receptionist
Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, is seeking an experienced part time and full time medical receptionist. Both positions are Monday-Friday and the candidate must be able to work flexible hours (including some evenings). Ideal candidate must be pleasant and display excellent customer service skills in addition to being dependable and punctual. The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment and must be well organized and multi-task oriented.
Responsibilites include but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients
- Answering phones
- Making appointments (knowledge of insurance, referrals and co-payments)
- Collecting and posting of payments
- Some switchboard work

Medical Biller
Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, a rapidly growing plastic surgery office is seeking an experienced medical biller to join our team preferably with knowledge of Plastic Surgery and/or Dermatology.
Responsibilities include:
- Experience with CPT & ICD-9 coding, medical terminology and a strong knowledge of modifiers
- Billing for all commercial insurance, Medicaid, No Fault, Workers Comp and Emergency Room billing
- Minimum of 2 years experience; experience with NexTech a plus
The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask, be proficient in computers and possess excellent attention to detail as well as possess great interpersonal and communication skills.

Clinical Research Director
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Director of Clinical Research to help us grow the clinical trials division of our practice. This P/T or F/T candidate will be involved in the day to day activities of our 14 surgeon practice.
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- 3-5 years coordinator experience working on clinical trials
- Strong management and negotiation skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Negotiates and manages clinical research agreements with clinical investigators
- Develops and manages budgets for clinical studies
- Conduct analyses of clinical study problems, protocol modifications, etc
- Determines and implements corrective actions and assesses compliance and effectiveness
- Responsible for multiple projects and must work both independently and in a team environment
- Assists in the development and writing of clinical trial protocols
- Experience with IRBs
