Dr. Jerry Chang

Dr. Jerry W. Chang graduated with Honors from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in 1998 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. He then received his MD degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating with Honors in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Obstetrics/Gynecology. Dr. Chang went on to complete the combined General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, serving as Chief Administrative Resident from 2008 to 2009. During this time, Dr. Chang received advanced training in Microvascular and Reconstructive Surgery, obtaining the Yale Microvascular Certificate in 2009. That year, he was also awarded the Yale Plastic Surgery Scholastic Award. Following residency, Dr. Chang pursued further training in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, serving as a Fellow and Junior Staff Attending.

In 2007, Dr. Chang traveled abroad to Thailand as a medical volunteer with the non-profit volunteer organization Changing Children’s Lives, Inc. On this mission, Dr Chang treated children with cleft lip and palates, facial deformities and burns, and congenital hand and feet deformities.

Dr Chang is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. He has presented research findings on a national level and authored multiple publications.

Dr Chang’s leisure activities include music, travel, art, film and sports.
