Dr. Bruce W. Brewer, a senior partner at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. (LIPSG), graduated from Brown University in 1971. He attained his M.D. degree in 1975 from the State University of New York at Downstate, Brooklyn. The next five years were spent at North Shore University Hospital completing a general surgery residency. Dr. Brewer then received his advanced plastic surgery training at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He completed his training with the Christine Kleinert Hand Surgery Fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky.

In 1983, Dr. Brewer joined the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group.  In addition to his board certifications, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Brewer has always maintained an interest in academics and teaching. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. He has served as the Assistant Director of the Plastic Surgery Program at Nassau County Medical Center and is directly involved in the daily teaching of plastic surgery residents. He served as the Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Glen Cove. Dr. Brewer has presented papers, instructional courses and lectures at national and internationally meetings, including conferences in Mexico, Greece and Puerto Rico and Bermuda.
