BOTOX®

BOTOX®, the cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the face. Although sun exposure and lifestyle affect the surface of the skin, most wrinkles result from the natural movement of facial muscles. After years of muscle contractions, wrinkles become more pronounced, resulting in the permanent appearance of expression lines. BOTOX injections effectively and efficiently reduce the severity of lines and wrinkles in the forehead, around the eyes and mouth. Smoother, more refreshed skin can be seen just hours after treatment.

In addition to cosmetic BOTOX, the injections have also been successful in relieving migraine headaches, excessive underarm sweating and muscle spasms in the eyes and neck.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do BOTOX injections last?
Depending on each patient, the treatment may last between three and six months.

Is there any discomfort associated with the actual injection?
Some patients report minor discomfort associated with the injection.

Are touch-up injections necessary?
Doctors recommend touch-ups approximately three to four times per year, depending on each patient's unique analysis.

Is there a recovery period necessary after the procedure?
Since BOTOX® is a ten minute, non-surgical procedure, there is no recovery period and patients may return to normal activity immediately.

Is there any side effects in the days following the procedure?
There are minimal reported side effects which fade within the first week, including slight bruising at the injection site. Patients with neuromuscular disease or a history of cardiovascular complications should consult their physician prior to this procedure.
