Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any issues regarding an eyelid lift and sight problems?
Patients with normal eyesight or those using corrective lenses are at very low risk for problems associated with sight. An ophthalmologist clearance is necessary prior to the performance of any surgery.
What does an eyelid lift actually correct?
The eyelid lift corrects the baggy contour of the lower eyelids created by protruding fat and a sagging eyelid.
How much discomfort is associated with an eyelid lift?
There is minimal pain associated with this procedure and patients are able to return to work within a few days.
What can I expect after eyelid surgery?
There will be some swelling and bruising around the treated area. This should last approximately one to two weeks. After five days postoperative, makeup is allowed.
What is the recovery period from this procedure?
Patients are permitted to return home on the same day of surgery and sutures are removed postoperatively, usually by the fifth day. There should be no lifting or straining for two to three weeks. Patients generally find recovery from this surgery to be fairly quick.
