Dr. Lee received his M.D. degree from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. He completed an internship at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York, and then completed his Surgical Residency at the University of Tennessee Hospitals. He then completed his Plastic Surgical Residency at Nassau University Medical Center.
Continuing his education, Dr. Lee received a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital of the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Lee performed the first microsurgical free flaps and replantation in Long Island. He also established the Microsurgery and Replantation Program at Nassau University Medical Center and Winthrop University Hospital and has served as the Chief of the Division for both hospitals for many years.
As a teaching professional, Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Stony Brook School of Medicine, SUNY at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York. Dr. Gene Lee is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Lee has vast experience in reconstructive breast surgery following mastectomies and has performed numerous cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries of the face, breast and body. His current interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast; cosmetic surgery of the face, eyes and nose; and body contouring surgery, including abdominoplasty and liposuction.
