Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, PC (LIPSG), established in 1948 in Garden City, is the largest and longest continuously-running practice of its kind in North America. Its multiple Centers for Excellence include: non-invasive skin care and age management; cleft lip and palate repair; facial reanimation; microsurgery and peripheral nerve repair; comprehensive facial and body cosmetic surgery; burns and complex wound management; hand and upper extremity reconstruction; and comprehensive aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
Since 1954, Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. has directed a Plastic Surgery Residency Program, which has trained more than 100 surgeons in the art and science of Plastic Surgery. There are fewer than 100 such programs in the entire U.S.
Leadership
The eleven doctors of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. are all Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and are members of other medical organizations. They are the Chairs of Plastic Surgery departments at the region’s most respected and prominent teaching hospitals and medical institutions.
LIPSG doctors have authored more than 200 papers and book chapters discussing innovative techniques in both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. Our doctors also serve as spokespeople for national and international trade groups, such as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), which is the leading group for cosmetic surgery in the U.S.
Dedication
LIPSG in the Community: Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. has always been dedicated to patient care and the community by providing the full spectrum of plastic surgery to all patients. LIPSG established and has continuously managed the Burn Center at Nassau University Medical Center. LIPSG doctors also see patients at the county-managed hospital, performing life-altering surgeries such as: reattaching limbs, complex wound, dog bite and burn management, and reconstructive surgeries.
In the fall of 2006, LIPSG, the largest plastic surgical group in North America, and Evercare, the largest plastic surgical group in China, created a permanent charity joint US-Chinese surgery clinic (hyperlink to press releases China story) in Beijing, which will be a pro bono clinic for the underserved in China, enabling them to get necessary reconstructive surgeries.
Locally, LIPSG doctors are experts at performing reconstructive cleft lip and palate surgeries. The group developed the Cleft Palate and Cranio-Facial Center at North Shore University Hospital.
Innovation
LIPSG doctors are educating other doctors of innovative techniques. They often present to other plastic surgeons the latest techniques, such as: facial reanimation, MACS lift facelift, breast augmentation and complex burn management. On a monthly basis, the LIPSG doctors educate the public in the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group’s Seminar Series.
LIPSG has two brand new on-site, state-of-the-art operating rooms at our Garden City office. The operating room facility has been fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). The Aesthetics Center at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group offers a full range of non-surgical procedures in our newly renovated second floor suite. With two specially trained medical aestheticians, the Aesthetics Center is a “medispa” backed by the 11 surgeons of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group offering facials, laser vein and hair removal, peels and acne management. Products, including Long Island Plastic Surgical Group’s private label brand cosmetics are also available.
