Earlier this summer, LIPSG’s Dr. Frederick Lukash, hosted an event entitled “Extending a Helping Hand: Lessons Learned from IDF Experiences Abroad” at his home in Great Neck. The event featured Israel Defense Forces Colonel Dr. Tarif Bader, who discussed his experience as a military doctor serving on crucial humanitarian missions. Bader was part of humanitarian missions to Nepal after the earthquake in 2015, Haiti after the earthquake in 2010, and Syria throughout their civil war.

As a proud member of American Physicians and Friends For Medicine in Israel (APF), Dr. Lukash was honored to support the ongoing effort to bring American medical expertise to Israel. APF’s flagship Fellowship Program has supported over 1500 young people in their goals of studying medicine in America. APF also provides advanced training to American physicians in disaster management.
