Dr. Glickman on Dr. Steve Show for Tattoo Removal
On Sunday June 3rd, Dr. Glickman was featured on WPIX’s Dr. Steve Show for his expertise on tattoo removal, an increasingly popular procedure in the U.S. Out of 45 million Americans with permanent ink, 32% said they regretted getting tattoos. Dr. Glickman advises anyone considering laser tattoo removal to understand the complexity of the removal process and to seek out a highly-trained physician with experience in the treatment. Depending on the tattoo’s size, location, and ink color, Dr. Glickman says multiple treatments may be necessary to significantly reduce ink pigments in the skin.

Dr. Riina on CBS News for Treating Man with Flesh-Eating Bacteria
This week, Dr. Louis Riina was featured on CBS News for treating a 26-year old veteran who was in danger of losing his arm to flesh-eating bacteria, also known necrotizing fasciitis. Dr. Riina and the medical staff contained the life-threatening infection by removing dead tissue and performing skin grafts. Dr. Riina commented that bacteria can come from multiple origins and infections can develop into a severe case when a wound isn’t properly treated. Similar cases involving flesh-eating bacteria have made news headlines recently, including a 24-year old college student who had both of her hands and left leg amputated.
