For smoother skin and a more vibrant complexion, patients of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group can opt to undergo the non-surgical Vampire Facelift® treatment. This technique utilizes human growth factors to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Similar to the Vampire Facial®, the Vampire Facelift® requires a small sample of the patient’s blood, from which Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is isolated prior to reinjection into the face. In addition to PRP therapy, the Vampire Facelift® makes use of dermal fillers composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, as well as microneedling. These additional steps provide a further “lifting” effect to the face, creating a more youthful appearance.
As the PRP therapy, dermal filler injections, and microneedling begin to take effect, the Vampire Facelift® offers patients the following advantages:
- Improves a dull, gray complexion caused by reduced blood flow
- Enhances facial contour by stimulating collagen growth and elasticity
- Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles for a healthier-looking skin texture
Candidates for the Vampire Facelift® are patients who want to diminish signs of aging but do not need the extensive rejuvenation achieved with facelift surgery. During the consultation process, one of our experienced plastic surgeons will perform a facial examination to determine if the Vampire Facelift®, or perhaps another Vampire facial rejuvenation method, is appropriate for the individual’s unique needs.
Vampire Facelift® Procedure
The Vampire Facelift® procedure begins with the strategic placement of HA filler injections, which are used to enhance the overall facial shape with exceptionally natural-looking results. Following the dermal filler portion of the process, a blood sample is taken from the patient, which is then spun in a centrifuge to isolate the growth factors. Once this PRP is extracted from the blood, a numbing cream will be applied to the target area to maximize patient comfort as it is reinjected.
Using a small needle, one of our surgeons will carefully inject the prepared growth factors under the facial skin. Through the body’s natural response to these growth factors, stem cells are activated, stimulating the growth of new tissue as if to repair the skin that was never injured. This new tissue is composed of collagen, fatty tissue, and blood vessels, revitalizing the appearance of the skin.
To complete the Vampire Facelift® procedure, our surgeons perform microneedling, which further stimulates collagen production. In this final step, a specially designed device with tiny needles creates micro-channels into the skin’s epidermis and dermis. This triggers the body’s natural healing process helping smooth uneven skin texture.
The entire Vampire Facelift® procedure can typically be completed within one hour, though this may vary according to the specifics of the patient’s treatment plan.
Vampire Facelift® Recovery
Patients can resume their normal activities immediately after their Vampire Facelift® without any downtime. However, they can expect mild redness and swelling in the first few days of their recovery, and should wear sunscreen to protect their skin, as it will be especially sensitive to the sun.
Vampire Facelift® Results
Results from the Vampire Facelift® will continue to improve for two to three months as the skin heals and regenerates. The rejuvenation achieved from the procedure typically lasts for one to two years. Patients can schedule touch-up treatments to prolong their anti-aging results.
