Lip augmentation procedures typically last under 30 minutes and often require no downtime after treatment. Injections are made in the treatment area with an ultra-fine needle. A local anesthetic may be applied to help you feel more comfortable during the procedure. There may be some mild swelling or bruising after treatment, but this should fade quickly and results are typically instantaneous. Depending on which injectable is used, the effects of lip augmentation treatments can last anywhere from 3 to 12 months or more, and even longer with occasional touch-up treatments.
