Several members of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group nursing staff recently took the Certification Exam for Plastic Surgical Nursing. We are happy to announce that all were notified that they passed the exam and are officially CPSNs.
The nurses who are now certified are Teresa Barroca, Diane Keane, Kristen Verdeber and Debbie Rapuano. They join Debbie Greenberg and Janet Misuraca who were certified previously.
The exam is a comprehensive review of all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive Plastic Surgical Nursing. Certification provides recognition for a common knowledge base and a high level of skill in the practice setting. . There are less than 400 CPSNs in the American Society for Plastic Surgical Nurses and we are very proud of the fact that we now have six on the LIPSG team.
