Dr. Samuel Kim is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with advanced training in aesthetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. He is committed to delivering safe, personalized care through evidence-based techniques and an artistic, patient-centered approach. He joined New York Plastic Surgical Group in 2025.
Dr. Kim earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine after graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Human Biology, Health, and Society. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he trained extensively in cosmetic surgery, microsurgery, craniofacial surgery, burn reconstruction, and complex wound care. He completed a prestigious Hand Surgery Fellowship at New York University, focusing on nerve repair, trauma reconstruction, and functional restoration of the upper extremity.
With a strong foundation in research and innovation, Dr. Kim has published over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters on topics including fat grafting, melanoma treatment, vascular anomalies, and minimally invasive techniques. His work has been recognized at national conferences, and he continues to contribute to the advancement of plastic surgery through both clinical care and academic collaboration.
Dr. Kim believes that excellent surgical outcomes begin with careful listening and a clear understanding of each patient’s goals. Whether restoring form after injury or enhancing natural beauty, he combines technical precision with an empathetic, thoughtful approach.
In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and bowling.
