A poster on prevention of burn-scar deformities in hand burns was presented nationally and awarded best in category at the American Burn Association‘s 49th annual meeting in Boston this week. This poster was created by the dedicated staff and residents of NuHealth’s Nassau County Firefighters Burn Center, which is overseen by LIPSG’s Dr. Roger L. Simpson and Dr. Louis H. Riina. Dr. Laurence T. Glickman also plays an active role working with the residents.
The conclusions of the project have helped many burn patients achieve a marked improvement in hand function following severe burn injury.
