Dr. Frederick Lukash‘s middle daughter, Abigail,  is a kindergarten teacher on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Every year, for the past six years, Dr. Lukash goes to the school to carve a pumpkin with Abigail’s class.

On Wednesday, all 16 children prepared for the big surgery by putting on a surgical cap, rubber gloves, and a mask, just like they would for the OR. Dr. Lukash pre-carves the pumpkin for safety, and all kids participate in pulling out the pieces. The “surgery” is the  highlight of the day for this lucky kindergarten class.

Dr. Lukash and Long Island Plastic Surgical Group wish you a festive, fun, and safe Halloween. May your jack-o-lanterns shine bright and your candy bag be full!
