Garden City, NY, April 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) hosted a private concert on Monday, April 8th, benefiting ReSurge International, a charitable organization that provides free reconstructive surgery and medical training to the underserved in developing countries. The concert, which was fully underwritten by LIPSG, featured Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter John Popper, of Blues Traveler. The event, which was accessible not via ticket purchase, but via donations to ReSurge International, drew 130 Long Islanders to My Father’s Place in Roslyn and raised upwards of $30,000 for the Dr. Vincent DiGregorio Fellowship Fund at ReSurge International.
“This concert was a great opportunity to contribute to an incredible cause,” said Dr. Thomas A. Davenport, a board-certified plastic surgeon at LIPSG and an active volunteer with ReSurge International. “The Long Island Plastic Surgical Group partnership with ReSurge International is a unique and important part of our group, and we want to create awareness about it within the community.”
The funds raised at the event will go towards continuing ReSurge International’s mission of providing life-changing surgical procedures and training to medical providers in developing countries all over the world.
