Patient 1

Dr. Mattos
Woman in her 50’s who had undergone implant based breast reconstruction previously elsewhere, complicated by bilateral capsular contracture, which caused tightness around the implant and a lot of discomfort. Her implants were high in space and her nipples pointing down and lateralized. I removed her bilateral breast implants, performed a capsulectomy of both implant pockets, and reconstructed her breasts with her own tissue using DIEP flaps, a type of free tissue breast reconstruction. No implants were therefore necessary. Here she is about 8 months after surgery with no more pain or discomfort and a much better aesthetic result.
